12 hours down and 4.5 million downloads! Awesome work…we’re playing a little Wii and ping pong here at Mozilla HQ trying to stay awake. At least me anyway! It feels like finals week, but a whole lot more fun :) The most exciting news of the evening has been reports of a mention on The Colbert Report!
At last — our chance at Guinness World Record glory is here! Not to mention the general availability of a freaking awesome browser! The last few weeks have been incredible with over 1.7 million pledges collected from around the world. Most impressive were the community efforts in Brazil, Italy, France and Poland that resulted in well over 50,000 pledges in each country.
I can’t wait to see what the next 24 hours has in store! To be part of the record, please download Firefox 3 by 11:16 a.m. PDT (18:16 UTC) on June 18th. Have fun!
I wanted to extend a huge congratulations to my little sis for just completing the AIDS Lifecycle from San Francisco to LA. A whopping 545 miles and she raised a bunch of money! She did it all by herself and with a bum knee.
Here she is at the turn off for our home town on the Pacific Coast Highway. She rules :)

If you haven’t heard about the Kung Fu Panda movie yet — it’s kicking some serious behind at the box office. But most importantly it features a Chinese red panda brought to life by the voice of Dustin Hoffman. The Firefox logo is based on the adorable red panda. It’s so cute I want to smoosh it.
Our friends at the Red Panda Network are hosting a special Firefox 3 launch party and fundraiser to build a preserve for the red panda on June 21st at 2 p.m. in Palo Alto. Check out all the details here. Hope to see you all there…I hear the Firefox of ROFLCon fame might be making an appearance.
P.S. Over a million Download Day pledges! :)
I rarely spend time thinking about what my socks look like. I pretty much wear running and bike socks for every occasion. Charming…I know. But these little suckers caught my eye a few years ago in San Diego and I snatched up the last few pairs for the Mozilla PR team. Since then I’ve gotten a lot of compliments and “OMG, where did you get those?!” questions. I finally got around to looking for them online. They are adorable — enjoy!
